I will be interested to hear what your results are from your experiment. According to the chart in the SPEED book, they alternate days of IF... that is a little too drastic for me I think. However, heavy meal and then IF the next is not a bad plan. I sometimes do that. Are you talking IFing the whole day?

I did a dinner to dinner. And only 1 day. And, I did a higher calorie day after the IF day (in part because I wasn't planning well). I do better with IF when I'm busy...and so picked a day when I was out of the house and had dental work (both of which made it easy to IF on my first day back at it).

I think it may be getting the blood flowing will get you out of a slump.

Yep, I like what the doctor had to say, like you say very Primal friendly as well as SPEED friendly.

    160. I had to go back and look. Last Saturday I said I was stuck at 160.5. I started my experiment on Monday. I feel like I'll never get below 160 But, I'm only day 4. I have to give things a full week

Off to Santa Fe. It's good to get out of the house, but not as good when I have work that I need to get done by being in front of my computer. Out of town folks. I'm going to try and avoid lunch out with them. They never want to go where I can get a good steak or something.

Know what I realized? I hit my first mini goal. 160. So, while I'm being a baby, I've accomplished something big. Yay. 150, here I come.

159.5. Fridays are my "official" weigh day. That's down a pound from last week. I'll take it. Hopefully it means I'm really in the 150s.

Thanks, Chris. The support of our group has been great. My DH is awesome. He doesn't necessarily believe in eating Primal, but he'll support me all the way. We have little junk in the house. I'm picky when we go to people's houses. I don't really want to eat out anymore. He continues to support me. But, he's never been overweight. He doesn't struggle to lose the 5 pounds he gained at Christmas. He doesn't understand why I get so frustrated on a day to day basis.

I'm trying hard to enjoy the journey. I'm trying hard to stay in the here and now. Life is too short for me to be wishing it were 6 months down the road. I am having fun. I enjoy the progress I'm making. I love finding new recipes and creating my own. And, I've had more fun since I've started considering each week an experiment (although, full disclosure, I thought yesterday about taking another fast to "speed" things along...I'm glad I didn't...that wasn't part of my original plan!). Monday will be week 1. I'll post my thoughts and results then.

I do sometimes think about how much of my time and energy has been spent on trying to lose weight. And really wish I could shift my focus, but it is so in my face, and limits things I can do. But I keep working on the balance, I suppose that is in the end what life is about.
