    My quest to end Psoriasis

    Shop Now
I've had Psoriasis all over my body (except for under my fingernails, the palms of my hands, the bottoms of my feet, and my face) for quite a number of years, and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to control it through diet or other things. I've actually read that meat and eggs flares it up, and people have had much success with a vegetable based diet. But I don't want to do that! I love vegetables, but I also love my meat.

Have you ever tried a grain-free diet? I get eczema from grains~ even corn~ I wonder if they might be trigger foods for you too~

I would highly suggest doing a strict low lectin trial of primal. Primal eating alone didn't help my mild psoriasis. However, strictly eliminating the high lectin groups including all nuts gets rid of it. I do have severe rheumatoid arthritis (which may be psoriatic arthritis) which is dramatically improved on this diet. I am pretty sure it is nuts that aggravates psoriasis for me, but it may also be dairy. When I cheat on one, I usually end up cheating on both.

The GAPS diet will help you. It takes a lot of preparation-making bone broths and such, but it's well worth it!

Just read the lectin story! I don't eat nightshades often, or grains, or dairy, but I will try eliminating nuts and eggs for a few weeks...........after Thanksgiving.

I looked at some articles about the GAPS diet...and it sounds like it's exactly like the diet portion of Primal Blueprint (which I'm following.) Can you tell me the differences?

My sister had Psoriasis for a good 10 years. She went to several Dr's from specialists, dermatologists, family physicians, internal medicine physicians, rheumatologists, during these 10 years. None were able to help her. FINALLY!!!! We were given a # of a Dr. Robert Morse N.D. and cured her in 3 months!!! She hasnt been bothered by it in over 14 months now. We go to him for everything now. Most recently my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Right away Dr's wanted to cut him open and cut out his prostate. After reading the effects of not having a prostate I called Dr. Morse and in 6 mos healed my father of Prostate cancer without any exposure to chemo/radiation nothing. Our family physician was in Awe. I'd check him out. He'll def open your eyes to alot.

Thanksgiving is not the ideal time to be strict is it ? I would suggest that when you are doing the trial, be crazy strict for at least two weeks or longer if you can manage. Nightshades are hidden all over the place - paprika is in everything! And even tiny amounts of nuts or dairy can cause issue for me. Once you establish a new baseline then you can figure out exactly how strict need to be to see results.

Many people in my family suffer from psoriasis, so I know it can be very frustrating. I hope you can get some control. Have you considered any of the biologic drugs?
