How NOT to Gain Weight Over the Holidays

Yes... This is the hot topic on the bulletin board at work right now. They're posted a whole bunch of low-fat recipes (for desserts, of course) and tips for avoiding gaining weight. I skimmed a few and then walked out of the room.

    Tip #1 - Eat grains. They're healthy.
Tip #2 - Avoid bacon and sausage.

AUGH!!!!!!!! Lets just say I will NOT be following their advice.

Wanna really drive them crazy, get one of those fast bacon things you do in the microwave and smell up the joint.

    They should read:

    1) Don't stuff yourself like you're never going to eat again.
    2) Make time for exercise.

If they are presumably high carbing it during the holidays then of course lowering fat (lowering the bacon and sausage) will help not to gain weight. So it's not bad advice.
I would include some low carb days and fast days during the holidays as well as glycogenic depleting exercises and daily 1 hour walks.

The Health and Wellness newsletter just came out today. The lead article was written by an employee who is now vegan. And the featured recipe includes vital wheat gluten and bread crumbs. All I can do is shake my head.

I like the idea of cooking a whole package of bacon in the breakroom!! It's a small office so it will smell everywhere.

    That's just naturally-lean-people code for:

    1) Eat less.
    2) Move more.

    That will never work.

    Pure Blasphemy,

    Wink - wink.

There is a huge difference between talking about how to do something and getting it fucking done.
