Sorry if this post is too cooking oriented. I bought a 19 lb pasture raised turkey from a local farmer and currently have it in the freezer. I don't think it will fit in my oven (yes this is comically dumb). I am thinking about buying a smoker at some point but would like to give it a go in the oven. Does anyone know if I can cut the turkey into parts first and then cook the parts separately? Thanks.

If a 20 pound bird won't fit, you've got a teeny oven! Do you have a roasting pan? Move the oven rack down to the bottom, stick the frozen bird in the pan, and then see if it fits. You really don't need much space around the bird, though part of the way through cooking you'll have to shield the upper surface with foil to keep it from browning too much.
