Primal Fuel

Jokaman: You hit it all. Good post. And I'm with you, when I hit 39 I'm going to be there with ya, HRT plz! kthnx!

Prohormones/Designer Steroids are usually more dangerous because they are only oral, therefore the waste product tends to be more toxic. That is why you can't run long cycles on methyls. Non-methyls can be run for 8-10 weeks, with 8 being the usual limit.

I ran a cycle of Bold (1,4 Ad) and H-Drol (very mild methyl) for about 10 weeks. PCT was in check, had no problems. Weight maxed out at 190lbs.

With stronger methyls though cycles usually are limited to 4 weeks, sometimes shorter. The toxicity is usually pretty high as well and they are rough on the body and the liver.

Bottom line, real anabolic steroids are your best bet. Safer and much more effective.

Doc has me on Testim HRT. 4 years now. Right off the bat I lost 10 lbs and my energy level, mind "sharpness", reflexes, and "happy" mood increased. Although part of my reason for PB and Crossfit is to try to get off the gel. My T level was borderline 190 then (it's in the 700's now) and I was overweight, stressed out, and way out of shape. The HRT was a blessing, it motivated me to diet and work out. It is cheating though, as my gains/results are quicker now and easier to maintain then when I tried in my 30's to get fit. YMMV

I have gym buddies that have most definately done them (real stuff).

They puffed up everywhere... face is the most noticeable. Their strength went way up for about 2-3 months then dropped off significantly... but they were still a lot stronger and bigger than their starting point.

    Acne over thier upper back.

Heard them talking about getting viagra post cycle to help until their natural test came back.

It just doesn't seem like quality gains they got... a lot of water weight.

    I'd say stay away.

I suggest visiting www.tmuscle.com - there's a whole board dedicated to steroids. There's the usual number of meatheads and trolls but some of the posters are very knowledgeable and you should be able to get some useful information.

I'm a die-hard "do it yourself" type of guy but this is one area where I would consult a physician who specializes in the subject, can't hurt to get an opinion from someone who knows a lot about the endocrine system.

/even the possibility of losing my hair or shrinking my nads is enough to scare me away from them

    >>I'm only 28 years old and I make GREAT gains naturally so I've never been all that interested in doing them myself, but when I'm in my mid-40's I'm gonna be the first one in line at my Dr's office asking for HRT and/or HGH - that sh!t will keep you young (along with paleo of course)!

    <<

Good luck with that. With our current knowledge I wouldn't even consider HRT/HGH. I'd need to know a lot more about the long term effects of taking them. Maybe when you hit your mid 40's they'll have a much better handle on long term effects, but not now. I'm 55 and looked into it a few years ago and decided it would be crazy to try. There are much safer ways to feel young. I'm waiting for nanobots to be developed that can target and correct aging.

HGH was really expensive when I checked, is it still?

There is a great documentary on steroid that is on netflix on demand called Bigger Stronger, Faster. If you have netflix its worth watching.

Bruce, Tnation just posted an article on HGH actually...

A lot of people rag on them because of their supplements and so on. In all honesty, they are one of the only good natured companies I've come across and stuck with for a while now. High prices, and lots of marketing, but I like good companies. If you're trying to make a dollar, and still help people in the process, you're all good in my mind.
