Why do my hard boiled eggs taste sour?

I'm staying at a hotel, and for breakfast they have free breakfasts. I usually just drink coffee and have some hard boiled eggs, but lately I have found them to taste sour! Does that mean that they are bad, because they smell fine and look terrific. I have had the same situation with my coffee unless I add a lot of half and half - it tastes super sour in the morning! Does that mean I'm supposed to eat more fat?

Are you taking any meds or supplements before breakfast? I just got off an antibiotic that made everything taste like aluminum all day. Just a thought, and I would imagine some supplements would have the same effect.

And... not to be nosy, but is there any chance you could be pregnant?

No, I am definitely not pregnant, and the only supplements I take are magnesium, n-3, D3, and a multivitamin.

Hmm. Got me then. I'm hoping someone else has an idea.

Maybe they're boiling them in vinegar and it's leeching through the shell? We've had that happen at Easter before & it was sour.

Would there be a reason why my first few days eating them were okay? Although that makes a great deal of sense.

If you're used to eating eggs from free range chickens, eggs from commercial chickens will taste bad to you, and for good reason. Trust your body. If a food you typically eat and enjoy suddenly tastes bad, it is bad.
