I used to LOVE chocolate. I'd eat an entire box of those Belgium Guylain chocolates in a short evening. Or even Laura Secord frosted mint chocolate bars. I'd buy five at once and they'd be gone that day. Homemade chocolate cakes were doomed from the get-go. As were brownies, if they even got to the oven.
Now, after six months of no sugar (that I know of) and no wheat (that I know of) I can't even stand the taste of any chocolate, super sweet OR dark. I just does nothing for me.
I am in mourning.![]()

I'm going to add peppermint to my cocoa, cocoa butter, coconut oil, coconut mix! Thanks for the idea Kimelah. I'll mourn along with you for your loss
The last couple of times I've had raw milk, I've had awful tummy cramps and even diarroheaI love raw milk and didn't have it often (not for a fortnight now, until yesterday). Nooooo!
But a positive 'frustration' - my 13-in16-days daughter threw out some clothes and when I asked her about them, she said, you can have them. They'll fit you ROFL!! She's average sized, by the way. Her hand is bigger than mine, her feet are bigger, she's taller....
Here's another:
I use to look forward to going out to eat (twice a year!) and getting a big STEAK! Now, I like mine better. Boo! No one to cook for me anymore!
Re chocolate: now, people who've known me my entire life look at me like I've had a brain lobotomy. What? No chocolate?!? And then they back away slowly, all the while keeping their eyes on me, hands in the air.![]()
Hmm... okay real frustration, I have gained 5lbs since starting (and I have close to 100 to lose) so I am hoping once my body really gets use to this it will adjust...
Now that my kids are not eating processed crap they expect to be fed real food 3 times a day - it is getting expensive...
My 4yr old eats all my vegetables and steak and pork and bacon...
My 2yr old eats all of my eggs and yogurt and nuts...
Since going primal both boys hit such a growth spurt they skipped over 2 sizes and now I have NO clothes that fit either one of them
The boys so much energy they wake up even earlier (so do I, but now they even beat me and my alarm!)
I am craving seafood - and I have never liked fish!
@Fabbecky - Do you keep a food log? Might be worth doing for just a week to get an idea of how much you're actually consuming. Paleo puts you into an ideal state hormonally to deal with some excess, but too much will still cause weight gain.
I can't even use being sick as an excuse to fall off the wagon, only as one to adhere even more to PB!
Two co-workers came in all week long with the drippy nose, sore throat, cough, general malaise kind of sick...and I didn't catch it. I wasn't feeling bad at all until yesterday morning when I woke up with the stuffed nose and acheys. Why did it have to wait until the freakin' weekend?
When I'm sick, I crave old comfort foods -- mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken noodle soup -- and had to deny myself the grains (cause I knew they'd make my gut rebel) as well as lower the bit of dairy I usually do take in to reduce mucus density, by eating grilled meats and lots of fresh veggies and fruits.
I now feel fine -- more than well enough to go to work in the morning...sigh.
Started 7/5/11 at 274 lbs
Now 214 -- that's 60 lbs!
Goal 160 lbs -- last time there was in junior high!

Oh man, I can second the VFF problems. I work at UPS and they require us to have special all leather upper, non skid bottom shoes. I'm hoping to convince my boss to let me wear a pair of the leather VFFs. I usually cite my ankle injury as a reason I can't go back to the thick, dense, heavy boots, but in reality...they hurt and I can't feel the ground. I loose my balance easier with them. Weird!
