    carpal tunnel surgery

any advice for lifting heavy things when you're having carpal tunnel surgery? Right hand 2 weeks ago, left will be Nov 29. I'm an out of shape newbie, haven't done a lot of lifting previously, started before surgery with stuff like moving bales of hay and shoveling manure ( I have a horse), but I'm a little confounded with the one hand thing and feel a little out of balance. On the good side I'm off work for a bit and have doubled my dog walking from 1 mile to 2, so progress there. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, I don't have access to a gym.

    first, don't get the surgery.

second, sign up for a yoga class with a teacher who has students who have used yoga to avoid surgery.

it's really just tight fascia. between yoga and massage, you can actually loosen the fascia without surgery.

if you are convinced about surgery, then whatever, go for it. but it's expensive and needless in most cases IMO.

    anyway, start with walking.
