    Inflammation!

    Primal Fuel
Damn, I never quite knew what all the fuss was about inflammation. I was always able to eat bread and all the omega 6's I wanted without ever feeling "inflammed"....

    Till that one faithful week...

Thinking back to that time I was really into oatmeal and nuts (cashews) at the time. I was also drinking coffee and smoking cigs and stuff...I wasn't addicted to either, it was just one of those weekends...

Well it was a saturday and I woke up with red, puffy lips...I immediatly thought "Oh crap, coldsores" but went on with my day...my day included more oatmeal, nuts, coffee and tobacco....

    The next morning...holyyy shittt

I woke up and my lips were 2x there size. Not only that, but there were a million mini puss volcanos that erupted and hardened overnight, creating a yellow crust over both my lips...

it was painful and embaressing to look at. I ddin't go to school or work that week. To this day I have a weird phobia whenever something feels funny bout my lips...it was THAT bad.

    ---

Well this weekend was a bad weekend. It was my first time home since moving upstate for school. My mom baked cookies, pumpkin bread, and bought me a TUB of cashews...

and I tore that shit up.

And here I sit with the same, red puffy lips...I was scared shitless at first, but now I realize that THIS is inflammation. Swelling, redness, stinging, a little itching....

So all day and yesterday I've been munching on any anti-inflammatory food I can get my hands on. I've been avoiding grains and nuts and omega-6 packed oils like the plague. Nothing but meat, veggies, green tea, an apple and some cheese/cottage cheese (just in case it is cold sores)

My lips don't sting as much and they look fine. They still feel kinda stingy and dry but i'm not worried about having another week-long episode...

I skipped jui-jitsu today thinking I should let my body rest, but then I read excercise reduces inflammation. I shoulda gone for that extra boost....

Thank god for the PB teaching me about inflammation...

Long story short I now have a reason I can actually see and feel to stay the fudge away from grains and vegitable oils and eat healthy. Because my god, If I ever "erupted" like that again idk what i'd do 300+ miles away from home.

Mmm, sounds like herpes activated by stressors, not systemic inflammation.

doesn't really look like cold sores though. Cold sores usually develope in individual leasions, not all over puffed lips.

Sounds like a tree nut allergy. Google cashew allergy symptoms.
