Sorry. I absolutely love mayonnaise. The store-bought stuff is crap, but I've seen homemade recipes that use olive oil, but the criticism is that it can be very heavy. I'm thinking about trying it with an olive oil avocado oil (much lighter) blend.

Anyone have experiences with homemade mayo that they can share?

    Thanks!

I've used this recipe and it has turned out yummy everytime. The only modification I've made is to add a clove of garlic:

Wow. Thanks! Will give it a try. Interesting. No vinegar.

Steve, the lemon juice is the acid in that recipe... you don't need more than one. but if you wanted to use vinegar instead or in addition it would be fine too.

SF88, Thanks! The coconut oil one looks good too, but I'm not sure I'm ready for baconnaise yet.

    FNW, ah. Got it. Thanks!

Steve-O, I used a primal bread. Now, due to circumstances beyond my control (severe time restrictions and severe money issues) we have resorted to buying french bread for my 10 yr old's lunches :-(

I will find something else, I'm sure, but it's better than no lunch at all.

I am a full-time working mom and leaving my husband in charge of making my son's 'Primal' lunch, leaves my son with either A. a crappy school lunch or B. Fasting :-(

I'm not proud of it, but my family is still leaps and bounds above what we used to be health-wise.
