I've cooked salmon in coconut oil, it tasted fine. I do a lot of my savory cooking with coconut oil, I've never felt like I could taste it in the dish. Maybe my tastebuds are off kilter.
I see a ton of recipes involving coconut oil and chocolate. And I use coconut oil for frying vegetables and in bread/cake recipes. But what else goes well with virgin coconut oil? Would it taste good with a non-sweet dish like salmon and garlic?
I'm retraining and strengthening my taste buds, one primal meal at a time.

Would maybe depend on the oil. I'm using Nutiva just now and find it has a pretty neutral flavor in a dish.
