    What's your instinct tell you?

    Primal Fuel
When I write this, what is your first instinct? I've started thinking too much and need some fresh opinions.

I've been paleo/primal for over a year. I started at 145, using IFs i dropped to 130 (but weak & lethargic), then did paleo zone/higher fat & gained to 145 (but strong & healthy). Now I'm doing more visual measuring of vegetables but always low (ie 1 apple w breakfast, 2.5 cups zucchini with 3-4oz protein for lunch, ~2 cups broccoli w dinner). I haven't had gluten/grains in over a year. I do have an occasional sweet potato as a splurge, I do eat cheese (raw milk cheese, 2oz for breakfast w some organic raw almonds & an apple), i do sometimes have 2 squares organic 72% or higher dark chocolate for dessert, I have a glass of wine 1x every 3-4 weeks or so.

With too many splurges in a 2 week time frame (big fatty cuts of meat, sweet potato, chocolate & wine) I got up to 153 & didn't fit into my clothes. Reigning it back in, I now weigh ~148. At 5'6" Im about 5-8lbs softer than I'd like to be. I have been stuck here for MONTHS and have NO clue as to what I should address first: lower my carbs? but already low! And I did super-low carb for awhile & really feel I do better with a little extra. So should I IF? but last time I got really weak & now it scares me a little. When would I do an IF? I CrossFit 3x a week and do yoga 2x a week.

What's YOUR instinct tell you I should try?!
    Thanks folks!!!

IF doesn't make you weak & lethargic.

    It's hard to say.

    I only have questions:

When you were IF'ing and feeling weak, how many time a week were you IF'ing? How many hours per day?

Are you getting stronger when doing crossfit? Are you able to lift more weight now? more reps?

Maybe IF doesn't make one weak & lethargic but I was at that time. I would wake up, have coffee (black) and not eat until post WOD. I DID feel good some days during the WOD, but I look back at the time when I was 130 & I realized I was more tired than I usually am. So maybe I wasn't eating enough over all? I don't know.

I AM getting stronger & faster in my WODS, but Im wondering what I should address to start getting leaner! I REALLY honestly & truly dont think I"m eating too much...so I KNOW i need someone elses eyes to help me see where I can clean up!

p.s., on those IF days I would WOD at about 4 or 5 p.m....so it'd be like a 17hr fast.

    Today:
Breakfast 2 oz raw milk cheese, 1 macoun apple, ~10 raw almonds, coffee w/ cream, dark though.
Lunch 1.5 cups chopped broccoli, 1/2 roasted swt potato, fist size chunk of meatloaf (grassfed beef & turkey, eggs, coconut flour, spices, onion, sea salt, garlic, tomato),
Dinner 2.5 cups broccoli, fist size chunk of meatloaf, 1 Tb pasture butter
Then maybe a square of 90% dark chocolate & some peppermint tulsi tea

Not following you on the 17hrs. If you eat after working out, that would put it around 6pm? Ok, how many hours do you eat between 6pm and when you go to sleep?

You may benefit from more starch, especially if you're cross-fitting 3x/week. It's hard to overcome carb-phobia, but if I can do it, so can you! Carbs post-workout are your friend.

I would track what I eat and see if it is too much the same day to day. I would think about adding more protein at breakfast and having less carb then. Not necessarily less carbs all day, just when you have them, just a thought.

hmm...yeah, I usually have 1 carb-heavier meal a day. That's either lunch or dinner, not both. So maybe i'll try front loading my day with protein. thanks
