Wow, I'm envious. Cheapest CSA I found out here is $120 a month and that nets you 5# of ground meat and 2-3# of steaks for beef or pork. $12 - $20 per chicken.

I did a post on Robb Wolf's site a few month ago on how to make your own bacon (starting with a pork belly). You can definitely save some money "curing" and slicing your own.

$175 for 30 lbs of grass fed/pastured critter. That's enough meat to feed us for 1 month. I'm hoping it lowers our grocery bill dramatically.

Erm.... That would feed me (alone) for half a month. Am I doing something wrong?
Oh and I just got 35lbs (aproximately) of pork shoulder roasts for 70$!!!!!

Alex, to each his own. Hubby usually takes leftovers to work, and supplements with lunch meat sandwiches when necessary. The 3yo usually asks for eggs, bacon, cheese, and lunch meat during the day. We stock up on tuna regularly, and I either have a salad, leftovers, tuna, IF, or whatever I can scrounge up, leaving us with 1 lb of meat usage/day. Eat more Big @$$ Salads maybe?
