Raw milk in store states "for pet consumption only?"

    Shop Now
I would like to buy raw goats milk and I've found a place that carries it, however, on the labeling it states for pet consumption only. Are they required to say this just because it isn't pasteurized and would any of you buy and drink it? It's just raw goat milk in a glass jar. I was thinking it was just a way to bypass regulations but I wasn't sure so I thought I'd better ask! =)

Yes, we are required to put that on the label. What you do with it after you get it home is your business.

    Edited to add:
Laws vary from state to state. I'm in Missouri, and here I can legally sell raw milk from my farm. In Texas, raw milk is NOT legal to sell raw milk from the farm UNLESS you have a Grade A license, which is INCREDIBLY expensive to acquire.

I only milk three does for home use, and I make cheese for family and friends. I give it away.

No, they aren't. It's state regulation and gives the state, the Milk Board, and the USDA the opportunity to come to your house with officers in camo and guns drawn and confiscate your computers and threaten you. This *IS* happening.

Darn, please don't push this button. If you aren't in the milk/goat/small farm arena, you really may not be aware of the struggles that are going on.

Food rights are a BIG problem and growing.

It's just a way to get past the big government police-state left-wing statists who want to dictate what you can put into your body.

Have you ever been Teacher's Pet? Had a pet name? Have a pet peeve?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, we're good. Safe for PET consumption

That is our law in North Carolina as well (Not for human consumption). A couple of years ago some over zealous folks tried to change the rules so that the pet milk had to be dyed with a black ink so that people wouldn't want to drink it. Thankfully a huge uproar occurred and it was voted down.

Dr. Bork lol @ PET consumption! How ridiculous they have to label it that way! Thank you every one, I appreciate the responses
