I posted this question recently - more about general barefootish footwear for winter than for actual running. I live in Scotland where the weather's similar to what you in BC winters. The best response I got were rafting shoes + Sealskinz waterproof socks. For what it's worth, I will still *run* in my VFFs all winter; I don't mind getting wet feet while doing any significant exercise because I feel like the exercise keeps me sufficiently circulated and warm to not be too bothered. It's really the walking around the town thing I'm questioning. I'll definitely be trying the above solution, plus I'm keeping an eye out for Gore-Tex Merrell Pace Gloves in women's sizes. (They currently make them for men in UK size 7 and up.) I feel like a good, barefootish waterproof shoe + thick socks would do me for the cold months.
