Who needs animals when there are abundant fish and maybe even birds? I suppose I could go for the odd rat for the challenge of catching them

Sheep. They can be domesticated and I would have access to sheep's milk and wool in addition to the meat.
I vote goats, too. Chickens would be useful, but I really don't *like* chickens. Goats have personality.
I'm going to have to go with deer.
Venison is tasty; horns and pelt can be made into a ton of things...
Plus, they aren't GMO!
