What's the best book or resource on sleeping?

    Shop Now
I'd really like to start sleeping by 9.30pm and getting up at 5.30, but, since the last several months I've only been sleeping 3/4 hours per day. Sleeping by 11pm, waking up at 3 am. Always at 2, 3 or 4 am at the latest.

I figure, if I wake up at 3 am without fail, at least I should go to bed at 8 or 9 in the evening.

So what are the best resources on sleeping?

Are you sure you aren't female and age 55???? All the women I know 'of a certain age' have this problem. Yes it is VERY frustrating.

Right now, I'm on the third day of Melatonin about half an hour before bed.

I've also used Benedryl when desperate.

Here's another herbal option that works for my male neighbor:
Amazon.com: Herbal Medicine Deep Sleep 60sg: Beauty

    Lol, positive.

Thanks for the recommendation, it has some mixed reviews on iherb. I bought another one instead from there, from Gaia Herbs.

I've found this book very useful in the past:

Power Sleep: The Revolutionary Program That Prepares Your Mind for Peak Performance

It contains a variety information about sleep and also quite a few tips on how to improve your sleep. The title is a bit "over the top", but it does reference a ton of research to back up its content.
    Norak's Primal Journal:
    2010-07-23: ~255lbs, ~40.0"
    2011-11-03: ~230lbs, ~35.5"
    2011-12-07: ~220lbs, ~34.0"
