coconut meat vs coconut oil
Is it the same?
I read some people just take a spoonful of coconut oil for the fat. Could you do the same with fresh coconut meat?
Absolutely. Most coconut oil you would likely find at a health-food store is cold-pressed with no heat and minimally processed, although there are some really processed and undesirable exceptions. That means that the coconut oil from the jar is chemically the same coconut oil as the coconut meat but without the added carbohydrates, fiber, and protein and which make up the remainder of the meat.
