So of course we can't all just have unprotected sex as many times and hump like bunnies in hopes to populate a small village like we would like lolol..

So what are the most primal forms of birth control? Im a married female with a 5yr old daughter and a 10 month old son. MY periods are irregular so the whole "go by when you are ovulating" is out of the question.. and people who use the pull out method are PARENTS! lol

Condoms. Just get a good one like Kimono or something. And use a really good lube like the ones offered by Pure Romance. I know that condoms have a bad rep, but they are the easiest, the cheapest and fairly reliable. They have no side effects, unless you are allergic to them. Many people don't like them, but let's be real, sex is great with or without a condom.

And start charting your cycles using Toni Weschler's method. (Welcome to Taking Charge of Your Fertility) You might find that living primally will even things out a little more for you, then you can only use the condoms when you are in fact ovulating.

I *love* my Paragard IUD. It is copper. No hormones. Lasts 10 years. Yes, it hurt a bit to get inserted, but I'm a big girl. I took some Motrin, went home and had a martini. Oh, and my periods got heavier for around 6m, then evened back out. They are now quite light - 3-4 days. I understand if you have heavier periods the Paragard can make them still heavier, but it might not. If it does you can always get it out. I go *nuts* on hormonal birth control so I didn't even consider the Mirena, which releases progesterone, but some who can't do oral BCP can do the Mirena succesfully.

Pregnancy #1: was following Weschler's TCOYF faithfully. Ovulated 5 days early with no cervical mucus warning. Had sex on day 14, ovulated on day 19. Hubby has some tough sperm; they lived 5 days and survived a transcontinental flight. If dd wasn't his spitting image, he might not believe me!

Pregnancy #2: Withdrawal plus exclusive nursing, no periods back yet. Dd was 14 months old and ate almost no solids, nursed around the clock at least every 2 hours. Surprise!

I love my IUD, but if I did TCOYF again I would use condoms *every time* from 5 days into menstrual cycle through ovulation/temp change. I wouldn't mess around with pre-ovulation. It's just too unpredictable IME. Glad my dd is here - she's a freakin' amazing human being. But still.

LOL. One of the great blessings of the age we live in is birth control.
I just got off the ring in June. I really liked it after my body settled down (took about 6 months after going on it to regulate). We're just going to be tracking LH surges now and using a goalie (condom)

OK, everyone here questions modern food manufacturing and Big Pharma, but are all on board with hormonal and artificial BC. Craziness!

There is absolutely NO reason to ever take a Pill or use a condom for birth control. Your body tells you when it's fertile -- no thermometers, no pills, no IUDs, no cancer-causing fake estrogen.

look, i support a person's right to choose what they want to utilize for their own fertility and birth control choices, but i personally do not use chemical birth control nor do i think it's healthy for long-term use as birth control (my opinion). as hormonal treatment, it has benefit.
