    Ok, that was a rhetorical question. But if you do have an answer, please share. I wanted this thread to be more of a discussion on fat distribution on a primal/ low-carb diet. As I've mentioned ad nauseum in the past, I have gained 5 lbs since I started the Primal journey. And it's not muscle mass, as my pictures clearly show I have put on weight on my face. But my jeans fit just fine around the waist( but they do feel snug around the legs). My question is does overnutrition on a Primal diet lead to fat distribution in areas other than the mid-section, which was the first area I'd gained weight on a high-carb diet. What is the science behind where the body decides to deposit fats?

    It seems that if you help your hormones get to a normal healthy state through a Primal diet, the distribution of fat would be more natural. Nature intended for us, ladies, to have more fat in our mid section, butt, and thighs. I don't really see a need for a fat to be going to your face. On the same token, they say that people who are malnurished and sick usually look very thin in the face. So you can take it as a compliment

    By the way, I saw your pictures and I think you look great. Stop calling yourself a butterface

    I notice when I eat more starchy carbs, my face gets puffy. But it always goes back to normal when I get back to normal eating. I always just thought it was water retention.

    Just FYI, a butterface isn't a fat person or a person with a fat face. It's a girl with a hot body and a not-so-pretty face. It comes from "... but her face..."

    Everyone stores body fat in different places. Everyone is unique. But you will burn fat where you last "put it on". For me...my beginning second chin was the first think to trim down, then my inner thighs, now my "love handles".


    As to where you store stuff, that's genetics. It's how your body was designed.
