Maple syrup, no. Honey, technically, no... A lot of regular honey has high fructose corn syrup in it, fed to the bees. If you do have some, raw honey where bees eat their natural diet is your best bet, but in small amounts.

After two years of GAPS, and continuing symptoms of bloating and incredible fatigue after eating, I finally figured out the culprits - FODMAP foods (especially coconut, and unfortunately the oil, too) and broth, of all things. Apparently, broth is high in histamines and causes a reaction in some people?

I stopped eating these offending foods and am now a new woman! I seriously haven't had this much energy since I was 20 years old, 20 years ago. Excited to work on healing my gut and being able to eat these foods, again. And if it's a lifelong issue, that's ok. I'm just thrilled to have energy and a flat stomach, again!
