    Interesting article. Especially about the powdered milk being added to skim milk so it isn't chalky and blue.
    Now, if my local store would start carrying yogurt that's not fat-free. Shelves and shelves of yogurt all 0% fat. Blech.

But it makes me so happy that more scientists are admitting that their studies are NOT showing that higher cholesterol is harmful to us, even when their original hypothesis is proven incorrect. Although they always qualify the statement, they always say something like "the cholesterol in dairy" or "the cholesterol in eggs" are ok because of certain other components like lecithin or vitamin D or that it's from fish or it's "large and fluffy". They don't come right out and say that cholesterol is GOOD for us, they don't ever want to go back on conventional wisdom that cholesterol is evil.

    terrific. I am going to use this article to discuss with my husband moving my duaghter and him off the skim milk to the 2% or whole milk. I am no -dairy for about a month now, and not going back, I think.

    My wife grew up on a dairy farm drinking milk from the bulk tank. We buy whole cream-line (non-homogenized) milk whenever possible, as raw seems rather difficult to get sometimes.

    There have been suggestions that homogenization (forcing the fat through a tiny little hole so it breaks down and won't rise to the surface) causes digestive problems because it's suspended in a liquid and your body can't handle it well. (I'm not too clear on this, so if anyone has more info/counterinfo, please share.)

    In 2003, the Cochrane Collaboration, a respected source for unbiased reviews of research, compared low-fat diets with low-calorie diets and found that "fat-restricted diets are no better than calorie-restricted diets in achieving long-term weight loss."

    Does anyone have a link for this?
