Panela de Barro - clay cooking pot from Brazil

    Primal Fuel
Hi everyone, I'm very new here but I've been reading lots, just haven't posted much yet.

My DH just returned from a trip to Brazil with a Panela de Barro, a traditional clay cooking pot. He bought it from the pottery where they make them in Vitoria. I've never seen one before but a quick Google suggests it's a pretty ancient type of cooking vessel, so pretty Primal!

I'm wondering if anyone else has one and has any idea how to use it, what to make in it? Most of the pages I'm bringing up seem to be in Portuguese.

Sounds a lot like a Romertopf or a Schlemmertopf.

    Check this out

    Hope this helps.

What good is a used up world, and how could it be worth having?

Thanks, mine is similar except it is blackened with something. I found this link which suggests it is mangrove tree sap. Will keep digging further... About Us
