One of the few actual "horror" movies that ever got me...

Other than that I was always scared by movies like Cape Fear... because THOSE are the monsters that are real.

Cori: exactly. I worked for an organization where I heard real horror stories from survivors. Your average horror film doesn't scare me nearly as much as the stuff that feels like it could happen for real (and sometimes does).

    ETA:

I should add that that's about the time I lost most of my taste for creepy films. I love me some zombie movies, but the more real kinds of monsters stopped being entertaining.

Um, was anyone else disturbed by that 50 Shades Baby Boom article? One of the pregnant women wants to name her daughter Anastasia after the main character.

"Where did you get my name, Mom?"
"Oh, from a porn book that was really popular before you were born."

Any "boo" movies (stuff jumps out, the music builds to something suddenly appearing etc.), no matter how predicatable, freak me out. I'm glad Boyfriend is just as sensitive to it, so we tease each other about our violent twitches when something DUH-NUH shows up to kill someone or whatever. But truly scary? Yes, Cape Fear (the original, never seen the remake, though I'm interested) scared me quite a bit. I guess that's because it's believable and you could imagine yourself in that situation (though you don't want to).

I LOVE AVENGED SEVENFOLD!! The video was interesting. I found it hard to watch the video and listen to the song at the same time. I was letting the video tell the story instead of the song. This is probably why I was never all that interested in watching MTV and what not before it stopped showing music videos.

Panda, I would love to read your horror story! I'm a huge Stephen King fan... anything like that?

    Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.

So not okay. At least make up a story about being fascinated with the Russian imperial family or something.

"A very badly written book of smutty smut."

And who would want their daughter to act that way? A feeble, clumsy googly-eyed college girl. Sigh. Can you tell I hate those books?

Gay Panda- you rock with your word counts. I have a Nook and wanted to download your new book but couldn't. I had to steal my hubby's old Kindle to download "Toys."

    FTFY.

Also... I use the Kindle App on my smart phone. But I have the big screen Samsung Note phone/tablet thing.. so reading on it' isn't bad at all.

Soooo, :::Lady Friend puts on techie PR hat::: GP has some books on Smashwords (https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/macaulaychunter) which means you can download them in the Nook format or just find them on Nook (Macaulay C. Hunter - Barnes & Noble). "Toys" will be on Smashwords at the end of October; we've got this exclusive Kindle thing going on for three months . . .

Anyway, so glad you were able to download it now anyway!

    :::doffs hat, bows:::
