I was wondering if anyone has had luck finding primal-friendly doctors in their area? If so can you tell me how you found them? Google search? What terms did you use? Web MD? Yellow pages under Grok maybe?

I need to change my primary physician and I would like to try and find one who is at least familiar with a primal lifestyle. Thanks for the help.

I have the same question. On a personal level, I love my GP and have been going to her for many years. But, I am becoming increasingly disappointed in her expertise around nutrition and all the many implications. So far, no luck in the Seattle area simply relying on google searches for a primal doctor.

I'm afraid because going primal is going against CW, you're going to have a difficult time finding a MD that would openly support being primal. With a doctor in my family and a wife whose a cardiac care nurse, I can tell you they're all too scared of malpractice suits to buck the system and be on the fringe. Not to mention a healthy lifestyle is bad for business!

    It sure would be nice!!!

The OB I saw for my first prenatal appt isn't even happy I'm taking 8000IU of Vitamin D a day. She actually called me later to lecture me about the "unknowns" related to vitamin D and caution me strongly against taking it.

I didn't even bring up my diet with her... though if I did I wouldn't say "high fat, low carb, moderate protein" I would just say "nutrient-dense foods, with as little processing as possible"...that seems to be more politically correct. heh.

REALLY would be nice to have a doctor who understands this stuff though!

Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.

I found this via a link on Jimmy Moore's Livin' La Vida Low-Carb website:

ETA: Sharon, this link lists doctors in the Seattle area.
