Ah you know... looking at about 12# of premium spent barley. Just thinking to myself, 6 months ago I would have made some awesome pretzels with all these grains. Or a nice few loaves of barley sourdough.
Funny how your point of view changes over such a relatively short period. Consequently, this is turning into my best batch of beer brewed yet, and I can't wait to finish the two final products - beer, and yeast.
I always pitched the spent grain into the compost pile anyway.
One year I made a pumpkin ale for fall and used the pumpkin to make two pies.
I had one piece. It was so freakin' hoppy I could hardly finish it.
My SO ate the other 1 7/8 hopkin pie(s). Hopheads--they're hardcore.
