pulled groin - need lower body exercise suggestions

i pulled my groin muscles last week and i havent been able to do any of my regular lower body exercises that i do (namely squats and deadlift) because of severe pain. i cant run or sprint and it hurts even when i squat down to get on the floor for push ups and stuff like that. basically it hurts if i pretty much do anything but stand or sit

my question is for those that have had this injury or may be familiar with it. are there any exercises i can do to work my lower body that wont hurt? OR should i just forget about lower body for now til it heals completely?

I had a groin pull a couple years back, but it must have been a different muscle from yours. I could still squat, I just couldn't sprint. It'd probably be wise to just rest until it heals. Try foam rolling and wrapping your leg to see if that helps. Wrapping my leg definitely helped a shin splint I got over recently.

Have you tried KB swings? Seems like they would probably hurt too, but if not, they're a great exercise.

Awesome! Great to hear that there's a lower body exercise you can do. Swings are a great overall exercise but especially for the hips.

groin pulls suck. Stick with RICE as best as you can, anti-inflams, and just take it easy. The weights will be there tomorrow.

i was able to do sprints on an exercise bike at the gym last night without any pain so that is a go (and a heck of a workout)

Maybe try the pool(if you have access)...Water resistance can be very rehabilitating, and a good workout:-)
