    Met-con = Metabolic Conditioning Workout.

Usual metcon setup is 3 exercises with a ladder-style rep scheme (5 of these, 10 of those, 15 of the other one) in overall sets of 3, 5, 7, or for time.

    So, like this:

    5 rounds for time:

    5 pullups

    10 50# kettlebell swings

    15 thrusters

    That's a metcon.

Aw, I bet you would love Crossfit! Why don't you join? I'm planning on it as soon as I get a vehicle. My workouts are primarily met-con, which I now see isn't always ideal...I am going to try for some more heavy lifting, adding weights instead of just relying on the bodyweight. Perhaps I will find some gains...

No where to join around here Small towns aren't progressive enough for my liking! Closest place is probably Toronto which is three hours away.

    I grok, therefore I am.

Didn't she switch to "Urban" from "Byers"? Glad you put that link up, Jess. I joined a Crossfit Gym (Black Hills Crossfit) that just opened, been going 2 + months, and am certainly still a noob. But the info and intensity is great. The guys here are always emphasizing the olympic lifts, and I plan to start the new year building strength with dead lifts, various squats, and cleans and such.

For a year, I'd been doing "crossfit inspired" workouts at home, watching videos on line, checking out different work out ideas like on MDA, etc. But once I hit he Crossfit Gym, I sure took it up a level from what I was doing at home.

    PrimalCon New York

Actually, vice versa on the name switch: from Byers back to Urban.

CFW9 (formerly CF603) is what passes for my local affiliate, but it's still an hour away, so I follow(ed) their programming remotely. GREAT stuff.
