I am getting into the groove again, it feels natural to me, not having to work it. DH's snoring woke me up at 4:40, I just got out of bed, couldn't get him to roll over and I was so irritated with him I would not have been able to fall back asleep anyway. Plus, I get up at 5:30 so it would have been a tease.
Lightly snowing right now, not sticking though so they didn't call school. Just as well since I woke up anyway.
I think that I will sit with the monitor this weekend and try to figure out exactly how to use it. Probably do a FBS test. I have never been able to get anything more than the first pink on the ketostix, so I am wondering if I don't just need to do the blood testing. Except that we have 3 college visits this month. Now that I was in such a rush to get the monitor, I wonder if I should wait. It sucks the the testing strips are so pricey.

I am thinking I am going to make the 7 layer bars that I took to Florida with me. They worked out great. I just need to see what the macros are on them and make any necessary adjustments. For eating out I can do salads and omelets so I don't worry about once I get someplace, really just the actual travel days. But I can do it.
I like the idea of a once a week blood check once I get a good feel for my macro parameters. I do drink a lot of fluid. My hunger issues mid afternoon seem to be done with, energy is better, and mouth has an occasional tin taste, so I think I am sort of dipping in and out, right on the edge.
I just remembered I have to have my colonoscopy on Tuesday. That means absolutely no fat on Monday. The calories have to come from clear liquids. So even if I am in ketosis, unless I happen to stay in simply because of a very low calorie count, I will be out of it Monday. Monday I have a Doctor's appt in the morning that requires I fast for the blood work, that won't be a problem it is in the morning.
I think I understand that fasting is a means to get to ketosis...
yes, that won't hurt it is the solution I have to drink to empty the bowels for the colonoscopy that will be a problem. I have to drink a large bottle of Miralax with Gatorade. It is not supposed to be the diet version, which is fine I suspect they are both equally bad for me. Luckily I only have to do this once every 2 years now.
