Oh I love watching them do this. We are not big on rugby here in Melbourne, but during the world cup in 2004 this was a fav segment on tv!

It's been years since I watched it, but this reminded me of a scene in Braveheart; I think the Scots finished it off by raising their kilts and waggling their bottoms at the British. Would definitely make a nice addition.

We had a team from Tonga come and play against us while on tour years ago. They performed a Haka too. It was amazing.

^^ Maori. And yes, it totally does work at psyching the other team out. BTW, the Scots always like to flash us, they're the only country with the balls to do so :P

Also, fun fact: That face they make with the bulging eyes, poking out the tongue? It literally means :I'm going to kill you, and eat your carcass. (it's a big insult. Like, 'You are not worthy' etc.)

As long as it's culturally correct, and not disrespecting of others traditions.

Very cool - never seen it before. I'll definitely remember it for when my 3 yr old starts sports as I think it really will psyche out the other team. Even if they don't look fierce (kids you know) it really makes them look united and like they have their game on!

I saw this on "Deadliest Warrior" (guilty pleasure) and yeah that's what they said it meant too.

Who won that game? It would suck to have your ass handed to you after that...
