    Nightshades?

    I see lots of comments about people cutting out "nightshades". What are nightshades? Sorry if I seem stupid

    Tomato, pepper, eggplant, etc. fall under this heading.

    Only red peppers like crushed, chipotle, etc., regular black and white pepper are fine and not nightshades. Potatoes, but not yams or sweet potatoes, are also nightshades. ground cherries(not to be confused with the berries we call cherries) and paprika are also nightshades.

    and people cut them out because they have been shown to cause pain and other negative reactions in the body of some people.
