    Vanilla Coconut Shrimp Recipe Help

    For those of you with the Joy of Cooking... the recipe for Vanilla Coconut Shrimp looks tasty. But it calls for 1.5 cups of white wine... The only other liquid in there is 1 c of stock and 1 can of coconut milk. Any suggestions for how to deal with the wine? Thanks!

    The normal substitute for wine in traditional cooking is water or apple or grape juice. Wine is not a completely forbidden thing in paleo/primal, & it is probably making a gazzillion of servings, so what's exactly your problem problem with the wine (you are avoiding sugar? don't like wine? tooe expensive?)?

    Mine's religious reasons.

    We always use grape or apple juice with a tiny bit of vinegar when a recipe calls for wine
