I just read a post on another thread that said if you can go 5+, 10+ or 16+ hours without eating then you are burning fat for fuel. Does this include the morning? I usually eat dinner around 7 or 8 and when I wake up in the morning, I can go until about 10 or 11 without needing to eat. I usually eat before then, but I can go until 11 if I have to. Does this mean I'm burning fat?
If your insulin levels are low, you are probably burning fat. Fatty acid metabolism doesn't require ketosis, but ketosis does require fatty acid metabolism.
