Thumbs up Hooray. I had given up hope before PB....

This isn't a big deal to so many of you, but it is Super for me!!!
I have lost 20 lbs. It took me 4 months, but I truly believed I was
fat forever before Primal Blueprint. I had tried everything else!!
My dr talked me out of Atkins about 15 years ago when I had had
success with it. I had tried Phentermine, under a different Dr, and
that had mild success, altho it was done at a time when my dad
was dying and I did a lot of comfort eating.

I will add that I am a 67 yr old lady who cannot exercise due to
back & neck injuries in an auto accident 20 years ago. I can do
some laps in the pool, but that affects the knee I have that needs
replacing. I really felt damned if I do, and damned if I don't!!

I can't remember how I found this website, but I am surely
grateful. Embracing this 'woe' has changed our lives. Hubby eats
whatever I put in front of him, but was snacking on high carb
junk until 6 weeks ago. I had to encourage, and lead him gently
to this WOE, as I did for our son. Son embraced it first and his
rapid weightloss convinced Hubby. Son has lost over 40 lbs!!

My son got himself and me Gary Taubes book, Why We Get Fat,
at the beginning of June. When I finished it, couldn't believe Hubby
started reading it...this man never reads anything except the Bible.
He finished the whole book, and is committed to Primal/low carb.

I spend loads of time on the forums to keep both my interest and
tweaking of what we eat, but it is well worth it. If you've never lost
hope before, this will be a cute anecdote, but if you have, you will
know how this has changed my life.

Thank all of you for sharing some intimate details and putting
yourselves 'out there' with your successes, and failures. I am
    so grateful!!

This is wonderful news, Nan! I also feel grateful. It's like there's a secret handshake club that's got all the secrets, and somehow we got admitted into the group.

Thanks all. We still have 2 that have been led to the water, but turned away. Our 2 daughters. The older of the 2 is married to an Irish/Italian, and getting them to quit pasta is going to be a near impossible mission(especially since they live in NH and get cheeeeep lobster and put it in pasta. Dunno if I could give it up under those circumstances either!!!) Our baby(39) also loves, loves, loves her pasta and subscribes to the old FDA crap. She has told me flat out she isn't giving up pasta. Alrighty then!!
All we can do is be the example, and pray that she gets tired of exercising and eating pasta, and not getting to the svelte body she wants do desperately.
I know the younger dau is watching her brothers progress. That might do it for her!! It will be interesting to watch!!
