How Primal are you: I stick pretty well to Mark's 80% philosophy. Though some days I'm 100%.

Do you consume dairy: I have one Greek yogurt every morning. I call it my "dirt" for the day...healthy bacteria and all that.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Neither. Water since going primal. I occasionally indulge in a Diet Coke.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Needed to do something before I was discovered dead on the toilet from a massive coronary.

Favorite exercise: Brisk walking, dancing on the Wii. (Just me, my wife, and son...no other witnesses...it's horrid...but fun.)

Favorite Primal food: Steak, eggs, prunes, lettuce (all kinds)

Best part about being Primal: Eat until you feel satisfied.

Worst part about being Primal: Looking at that delicious looking sandwich your wife is about to consume and turning green with envy.

How Primal are you: Very new to PB, just started reading the book

Do you consume dairy: yes, still

Do you drink coffee or tea: 2 Espressi throughout the day, couple of cups of tea

Motivator for switching to Primal: health issues like being allergic to many things, high triglycerids, heart illness in the family. Not a real
issue is weight (72kg@183cm), although I think reducing a bit body fat by building muscle would be a big benefit

Favorite exercise: BWE like push-ups, pull-ups

Favorite Primal food: don't know yet

Best part about being Primal: don't know yet

Worst part about being Primal: nothing (yet :-) )

How Primal are you: Only thing I'm not doing is eating everything organic, but I'm doing my best. Also I sometimes have a litte cheating going on, but thats about it.

    Do you consume dairy: Yes.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Green Tea, nothing else.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Main reason was just wanting to be a much fitter person then I was. I was always bussy with reading about fitness, new diets etc. When I came across MDA everything that was on the site just made sense. All the other stuff suddenly just sounded like a lot of crap.

Favorite exercise: Squats and sprints (next week I finally get my vibrams).

Favorite Primal food: A big piece of meat w/ broccoli will always do it for me .

Best part about being Primal: Dammmmm, it does feel good to be so fit and look good.

Worst part about being Primal: Explaining other people why I'm eating like this.

How Primal are you: Partially Primal. I'm 90-95% from 6:00am to 6:00pm, but things get a bit tougher after work when the wife starts insisting that dinner must contain bread, potatoes, and/or pasta. I pick my battles, and do not want to impose my new dietary habits on the whole family right out of the gate. I hope to win them over slowly.

Do you consume dairy: Yes, though I am slowly weening myself off full fat, whole milk, which is the only milk I've ever drank (I cannot stand the watery consistency of fat-reduced milks).

Do you drink coffee or tea: I enjoy between 2-3 cups of black coffee every morning. I've drank coffee for 17 years, and smoked for even longer than that. I tried not having coffee one morning and found quitting coffee cold turkey was harder than quitting smoking. I have cut my coffee intake in half though.

Motivator for switching to Primal: Over the past seven years I've buried three of my four grandparents, my father (67, heart attack), his youngest brother (57, heart attack), my oldest sister (45, pancreatic cancer), have seen my mother suffer two strokes, a knee replacement, and have stints inserted in both kidneys, and lastly have seen my dad's oldest brother undergo surgery to have a large tumor cut out of his skull. I would not call anyone in my immediate family obese, and generally we all do right by CW nutrition guidelines (the government food pyramid), are pretty fit, and enjoy plenty of outdoor activities and play. When my sister passed away two months ago from cancer I was crushed, not so much for my loss, but to see her leave behind her children, who aren't even out of high school yet. I decided then that I needed to make a change to my dietary habits, because I want to be around 20 or 25 years from now when my baby girls are all grown up and need their father to walk them down the aisle. I started P90x on March 17, and like a lot of people I suppose, found MDA through Mark's presence in the P90x program.

Favorite exercise: I really do enjoy doing the Plyometrics and Kenpo X sessions in the P90x program. Despite Mark's derision towards Chronic Cardio, I like running 5Ks too, and credit P90x and primal nutrition to shaving four minutes off my 5K time in just one month.

Favorite Primal food: Steak & eggs. I am a convert to almond meal since going primal. I'm not sure I'd ever had almond meal before two weeks ago (in fact, I'm not a big fan of almonds) but since going primal I've used it as a breading for pork chops, fish and have baked blueberry muffins with it. Delicious.

Best part about being Primal: My Big Ass Salad is a lot cheaper than the combo meals I routinely enjoyed on my lunch breaks pre-PB. It's nice to stop by the grocery store every three or four days and spend $20 on a basket full of fresh fruits and vegetables rather than do the $150 trip on the weekend for a cart full of boxed, processed foods.

Worst part about being Primal: Looking at all the Easter candy currently on sale at the grocery stores. I am a glutton for Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs.

Indianapolis now, but moving back to Calgary next week

    Age (If you want):
    26

    How Primal are you:
Currently 100%, but it was only week one and I have a 4 day road trip ahead of me

    Do you consume dairy:
Love dairy, right now just cheese

Do you drink coffee or tea:
    Occasionally drink tea

    Motivator for switching to Primal:
Weight loss for one, but I'm intrigued to see if I can get rid of the belly fat I've had my whole life (not excessive but a layer that's always prevented me from having "abs")

    Favorite exercise:
Sports, any and all (just don't make me spectate)

    Favorite Primal food:
    Bacon

    Best part about being Primal:
I'm gonna stick with Bacon, but other than that I feel more energized

    Worst part about being Primal:
So far nothing, but I know when I get moved it'll be cookies/cake and sushi (but sushi will go into the 20%)

Hey, guys (and gals)! This is my first post. Been primal since early February and am just now getting around to joining the forums.

Your location: Suburbs of Atlanta, Ga

    Age (If you want): 24

How Primal are you: I'd say in the mid 90% range

Do you consume dairy: yeah, a handful of cheese on my BAS every day and in my omelets

Do you drink coffee or tea: No

Motivator for switching to Primal: Avoiding my family's tendency to become diabetic and weight loss

Favorite exercise: Bodyweight exercises and trail running

Favorite Primal food: my almond meal crusted, pan fried chicken breasts (in coconut oil!)

Best part about being Primal: MASSIVE weight loss. (30 lbs in about 9 weeks!)

Worst part about being Primal: Having to deal with everyone else's obsession with grains. It's tough to eat out and stay primal.

How Primal are you: Just got off a Vegan cleanse about a month ago and now am turning full primal...hahahah....

Do you consume dairy: a little - Cheese here and there, and greek yogurt

Do you drink coffee or tea: NO - Gave coffee up about 4 months ago and havnt looked back

Motivator for switching to Primal: Needed a change of pace and wanted to see what it was all about. Being Vegan for a bit was fun, no doubt, but at times i was very full and didn't feel i was getting enough nutrients.

Favorite exercise: I am a loyal consumer to Beachbody products - P90X, Insanity, and so forth. But, I do love to surf a good wave.

Favorite Primal food: My Big A$$ salad at lunch that I stole from Mark...thanks Mark!

Best part about being Primal: the convenience

Worst part about being Primal: Havn't figured that one out yet...TBD

Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to Mark for the great read on PB and to all the members for sharing the great experiences and recipes. This is going to be quite the journey and I am excited....I was wondering if anyone could help me out...being a newbie and all I was thinking maybe someone could chime in and give advice on something...

You see I am going to a family dinner tonight and below is a link to the menu....what would be my best options....

    http://www.thewaterwheelrestaurant.com/menus.htm

    - Just click on "dinner" menu

    Thanks!
