    Primal Fuel

    Your location: New England

    Age (If you want): 22

How Primal are you: Pretty primal except for dairy, dark chocolate, and the occasional tbsp of homemade hummus

    Do you consume dairy: Yep

Do you drink coffee or tea: Tea all the time, all day long. Coffee, sparingly

Motivator for switching to Primal: My mom cut her grains and sugar after a blood pressure and cholesterol scare. After 4 months she lost her problems with both, plus 40 lbs. Also, GCBC of course.

Favorite exercise: Walking! I walk everywhere (literally. I don't know how to drive)

Favorite Primal food: Currently, round eye roast. It was on sale at Whole Foods.

Best part about being Primal: Bacon. Deviled eggs. Butter. Getting to know the local farmers markets.

Worst part about being Primal: Trying to convince my boyfriend that, no, I really won't die of a heart attack.

Other than that, I love cooking and gardening (harvesting some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers right now). I also enjoy sewing, knitting, and drawing. I have started a blog about the "primal experience", which includes personal insights, recipes, and other odd and ends.

    Your location: Chicago

    Age (If you want): 34

How Primal are you: Since I've turned my diet on its head last week, I've been primal with the exception of eating some dairy (heavy whipping cream and whole organic yogurt).

Do you consume dairy: See above.

Do you drink coffee or tea: Yes, both--though I've drastically reduced coffee to two small cups a day and began drinking more green and jasmine tea when I crave snacks.

Motivator for switching to Primal: My butt. Also, in the intellectual realm, having read breathlessly through Gary Taubes's book about a year ago. When I stumbled on this blog, it all jived with GCBC.

Favorite exercise: Yoga and bike riding.

Favorite Primal food: Mahi mahi in curry, coconut oil, and lime.

Best part about being Primal: My butt. Also, my mind.

Worst part about being Primal: The fear of my mother's impending scorn.

Nice to meet all you PBs! I'm happy to be here!

    Your location: Canada

    Age (If you want): 26

How Primal are you: Well, about 80%. I'm pretty good with the eating part but I am working on the exercise part. HIIT is a challenge for me but moving slowly is incredibly enjoyable!

Do you consume dairy: A cup of skim milk about once/week and yogurt a few times/week.

Do you drink coffee or tea: No coffee--never liked it. Tea once/2 weeks or so. I prefer water over everything else.

Motivator for switching to Primal: I have a friend who is ultra athletic but in the CW way (running marathons, actually works at a gym, etc.) who looks toned and excellent but none of his friends who do the same things as he does look like that. I started wondering why. I was also constantly falling asleep by 2:00 pm after eating what I thought was a healthy whole grain-based lunch along with lots of veggies and too little protein and fat. (Again, CW doesn't work!)

Favorite exercise: Anything that works my arms. For a 5'3'' woman, I build muscle easily and love the toneage!

    Favorite Primal food: Eggs!!!!

Best part about being Primal: Feeling excellent and seeing results that I would never have seen doing 3-hr work-outs at the gym like I did to prep for my wedding a few yrs ago. I also like cooking more and have discovered the magic of real, fresh, organic food.

Worst part about being Primal: I miss potato chips. I dislike having to justify my choices to others often. My wallet is also a bit bruised from the prices of organic produce.

Do you drink coffee or tea: not really, tea on rare occasion

Motivator for switching to Primal: I want to be around to see my great-grandkids

    Favorite exercise: swimming

    Favorite Primal food: eggs!

Best part about being Primal: I feel and look better

Worst part about being Primal: explaining to people why I'm primal, and finding something to eat when I forgot my lunch!
