Primal Fuel

Every so often I log in a day of eating in my Fitday to see where my ratios/nutrients are...Apparently I haven't been hitting the RDA for potassium for quite awhile now, sometimes only getting half the RDA. Curiously, I've been having some crazy muscle soreness for occasionally up to a week...Correlation? It's possible?

Does anybody else take a potassium supplement? Do you feel you need to?

As said a week ago, just use salt substitute. It's potassium chloride instead of sodium chloride.

That's what I do to keep the Ka up.

You know, maybe the potassium AND the carbs from sweet potatoes and bananas could greatly help with your muscle soreness... judging from your picture, you seem perfectly fit, so a little bit of either one wouldn't hurt!

Well to each their own, but I think Bananas would benefit you far more than a supplement. They've got a lot more than potassium and they're great for energy, not to mention they're probably cheaper than buying supplements.

OTB, what do you mean? My salt intake is fine, probably a little more than fine if you know what I mean...

Raphael, true, but the absense of carbs (which I don't really care for anymore anyway, besides those lara bars of course...!), means I can eat more of everything else I want (uhh..bacon!!!)

Avocado and NoSalt - both excellent sources of potassium without all the fructose you'd get with the nanners.
