You'll have to stick with therapy to build strength back up. Muscle loss is not a worry if you are eating maintenance calories. You can't rush recovery. I have pretty bad back issues, shoulder issues, neck issues, that are actually kept in check, and less bothersome, by doing strength training and continuing my therapy specific strength training. If I let the therapy exercises slide I start to have issues. My lower back has been locked up for about 3 weeks. Just takes time for it loosen up enough to move the vertebrae causing the issue, to where it belongs. My fault it locked, not from stopping exercise.
Thanks, I'll take a read. I found an article and Youtube video on a back bridge - looks pretty extreme and intense!
On a slightly random note, so now that I've given up grains, let says I eat pasta again in, say, 10 years time. Won't my body react badly to it because it's not used to receiving it/breaking it down? A bit like a veggie who has never eaten meat and then decides to eat some, many people become ill.
And my same query is with sugar too...
I feel quite sick if I have sugar now, often followed by headache and a sugar-hangover. In a way it's good, means I don't feel tempted to eat sweets! Not sure about grains, but use the 80/20 rule, allow yourself your carbs and sweets once in a while..
Ok great, thanks for the insight
