Primal Fuel

Would like to add, I've learned that:

Chocolate cake, ice cream sundaes, and peanut butter cookies aren't as good as they used to be.

I've also learned that you can, indeed, eat too much dark chocolate, with certain digestive results. Ugh. :P

    1. To question everything I've been told about nutrition and fitness.

    2. Fasting for a few hours after a workout works wonders on soreness and recovery (see #1)

    3. If you're a girl, have short hair, and lift weights regularly, most people will think you're a lesbian (I'm not actually, lol).

    4. Most people are not only idiots when it comes to nutrition, they are zealously against any ideas or concepts that challenge their own.

    5. This could be applied to many other aspects of life.

    6. Conclusion: most people are idiots.

    7. There's a big difference between "primal" and "low-carb."

    8. I don't really need bread, at all. Ever.

    9. I don't even LIKE rice (so no need to eat that either).

    10. Being primal is awkward in most social situations.

    11. Being faster and stronger than ever before is most definitely worth the price (I'm thinking increased cost of primal food on this one).

    Subduction leads to orogeny

My blog that I don't update as often as I should: http://primalclimber.blogspot.com/

    I've learned that...

...working isn't all it's cracked up to be.

...I might actually get in shape!

...I can take charge of my life and become the person I've always dreamed of being!

    I like your #6, Amy. :-)

    1. I won't die if I don't eat every 3 hours.

    2. Eggs won't give me high cholesterol

    3. I don't have to run long distance to be fit

    4. Vegetarianism contributed to my diabetic state

    5. Grass fed trumps all else

    6. I am going to have to play the political game at work if I want the promotion

    7. I don't want to play the political game

    8. Life is short. Don't waste it.

    DCKMB:

Re number 2: And high cholesterol isn't necessarily a bad thing!

    Love your number 8.

Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.

    I've learned that

Chronic cardio was to blame for those extra 10 lbs. that I could never ever lose. (Primal meant losing 15 without even trying!)

CW diet was primarily to blame for my [previously]skinny fat appearance.

Grains were the cause of the awful monthly cramps. No more grains = no more cramps. Cycle is a few days longer now, back to what was normal (29-30 days) when I was much younger.

Even when I slip up I can get back on track in short order (a day or two), instead of just giving up. That's because I'm not on a diet, but rather a very stable path. A stumble is merely a brief setback, not a permanent fall.

Oh, and I have learned that the scale is merely a device that delights in f-ing with my head! No more daily weigh-ins. I'll use it maybe one a month if that, and only when I am not going to care about the number anyway. I don't remember the last time I used it so maybe the battery is long dead.

I learned last night that a little liquor and a lot of bread does not agree with me (anymore).

I learned to eat lunch at my desk so I can avoid having to defend my lunch of meat and vegetables in the face of a table full of fast food.
