Question Orange juice question and please help me

    Primal Fuel
Is 100% orange juice ok? I drink a tiny bit to get medication down in the morning so it's not a full glass just enough to get this yucky medication down. If this is not ok what do you suggest?

I have not lost any weight and this disappoints me. Maybe it's my medication? Can someone give me a link to the right foods and gentle exercise. I can't lift anything as I have a bad neck and shoulder. They put me on new pain medication but makes me very dizzy so I have to be careful what I do. Maybe this is part of the reason too. I don't know. I did cut back fruit.

I'm small boned and doctor has told me I need to lose weight. "but it won't be easy since your diabetic" that was a year ago. I did pb then and dropped 15 pd in two months. Money got real bad and my mom was buying the food so back to eating old way. So I gained it all back and then some. I now weigh five more pd. Then I did last time, so I really need to lose for my health.

What bout energy? I could really use some are there foods that can help with that?

I'm sorry for the long post, I'm just desperate for help what am I doing wrong??? Thanks for your help!

Walking is a great way to start exercise. Go as slowly as you need, and keep going with it! If you are diabetic I would certainly really watch the fruit and fruit juice. Can you hold your nose and drink the meds with water? Walk walk walk, it doesn't matter if you go slowly. Do what you can. If you have a pool/pond/ocean that you can use, I would walk in there too, good for joint issues. If you are having lots of carby foods around the house, just look at carb counts and keep track. Try to stay under 100 for sure, and eat lots and lots of veggies, and protein. Get out of the house if you snack on unhealthy foods, and go for a walk etc. Good luck, sounds like a challenging situation. You can do it!

OJ is all sugar, so you are getting an insulin spike when you ingest anything with the concentration of sugar that OJ has. Why not just water?

For exercise maybe look at yoga or pilates, or something like walking...low impact. That is all I can really add. Best of luck to you.

You could make a coconut milk smoothie in the morning instead of the OJ, if water doesn't get rid of the nasty taste. Sweeten it with stevia or some berries. You could drink a whole smoothie instead of a little bit of juice. That should help your energy as well, though it does sound like your meds are affecting you.

How do you make your smoothie? I had a recipe but didn't care for it. Maybe there is a better one out there. I have texture issues to so that don't help.
I try to walk with my kids. It hurts sometimes though. Today I have a put you to bed migraine, you know the ones with sickness. So today is bad day! I think it is the compination of my neck and new pain meds. Oh such as life

    Thanks for your replies.

Drop the juice. Juice is sugar with water in it.

We don't know enough to answer about the meds, since we don't know what meds you take. Are you type 1 or 2 diabetic?

I just throw whatever in there that I feel like that day, but I don't have issues with texture. Usually it's about 10 ounces of coconut milk, a scoop of chocolate egg protein powder, and a small handful of berries or half a frozen banana. I don't make them too complicated. If just do coconut milk and berries, I'll add a bit of stevia for sweetness. I'm also milk protein sensitive, so I don't use any dairy at all like whey protein, but a lot of people around here seem to do so. This morning I just did coconut milk and egg protein powder with no fruit.

I buy bananas and let them get mostly brown, and then freeze them in a freezer bag just for smoothies. You can easily break them in half when they are frozen. I limit the amount of fruit I eat, but I don't eliminate it completely, and I stay right within the Primal weight loss carb guidelines (50-100g/day).

That depends? Do you like pure sugar and "flavor packets"? Mmm...sounds good doesn't it?

The Secret Ingredient In Your Orange Juice | Food Renegade

I'd rather drink soda than orange juice. They have the same effect on my body, but at least soda companies don't claim to be doing your body well. Soda companies aren't trying to claim their poison is healthy, so I'd rather drink the poison that doesn't lie to me.

If you just want a little fruity taste to cover up your meds, you could try water with a little squirt of juice from fresh fruit: lemon, lime, orange, etc. I have a tangerine tree and a couple slices of that in my water gives it a lovely flavor. You don't need all that sugar. Your tastes will eventually adjust to where that orange juice will seem horribly sweet.
