No problem at all. I have been in ketosis since September of last year.
Hey guys, just started a 30 day act as if primal challenge. So far doing pretty good! I have noticed that my calorie count is extremely low even though I pretty much eat until I'm full (although mornings are difficult, as I don't really have enough time between waking up and work, so I might need something to fill that gap...)
My question for the forum is how long it's safe to stay under 50 grams of carbs a day. I am trying to lose a couple pounds along the way so I've been spending my money on vegetables and meat almost exclusively and not really eating any fruits (or nuts, etc)... The one concession I do make is I still have one 8 ounce glass of milk (goat's) a day, and because of time contraints use a grass fed whey isolate. Essentially, I am around 40-50 grams of carbs every day, even when my calories bump up near 1500, which doesn't happen often. Is it safe to maintain this level (I think it's called ketosis?) for the full 30 day challenge?

Forever. I stay in ketosis by preference becuase I feel best that way. YMMV
I have been under 50g/day for going on two years with no ill effects.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Started in late 2007. Any time I add more carbs I always wish I didn't.

Goal - 132 pounds - 25% body fat
Still need to lose 19.1 more pounds of body fat and gain 5.1 more pounds of lean mass
It's probably safe to stay there indefinitely, though it may not always be the best for your goals.
