    Egg shell soup?

I have started making bone broths. Anyone ever try adding egg shell to the mix? The vinegar should react with the bone and egg shell but will t his ruin the flavor?

edit: Is there any evidence that any cultures used egg shell in there broths?

My gran used to put egg shells in some soups to clear them, and mentioned that it was good for getting added mnerals. Just want to put in big half hels and try to avoid lettjng break up, unlees you plan to filter them out.

Do you know if most of the egg shell dissolves? Did the broth taste good? Thanks for posting the info.

No the shells don't dissolve; you remove them after the soup clears (I think this worked with jelky makng, too). Now if you cooked them a very long while, like bones, maybe more of the calcium woukd leach out.
