So I recently got a nook color, and have this weekend mostly free. I am spending it in the hospital with my boyfriend as he is having surgery. I expect I will have a lot of time to read.
I'd like your top lists of books. Here is what I have already read;
Primal Blueprint
Nourishing Traditions
Atkins books, years ago
The paleo solution
Why we get fat
Good calories, bad calories
Also, I don't mind science heavy books or articles at all.
Let me know what you all think I should add. It can be on nook, or kindle as I have access to both on the nook color.
Thanks so much!

That's a good list already. You might want to do a search, as this same topic comes up every month or two.
In sticking with the theme of what you've already read, I'd include The Perfect Health Diet (excellent read and extremely interesting). Also, the topic of Leptin is causing quite the stir at the moment, so if you're interested on getting up to speed you might like Mastering Leptin (only book I've personally read on the subject so far).
Actually, if you don't mind a bit of a hijak I'm going to make an additional request of my own:
Can anyone recommend a good book on Endocrinology? Something they personally have read and found useful? I'm looking for something fairly broad spectrum and up to date (obviously).
Primal Body, Primal Mind by Nora T. Gedgaudas
Indigogirl
The Unhealthy Truth
The End of Overeating
The Vegetarian Myth
Warning: Some of these have stretches that are very badly edited. Do not throw your Kindle across the room.![]()

That is a good list.
I have most of those on ipad.
I was in the hospital a lot this year and also downloaded a Saunders Nursing Drug Handbook and looked up everything the nurses got near me with.
"Time for your IV change and shot..."
"What's in it?"
"Why?"
"I'm gonna look it up...."

Your list is pretty good.
I would like to add:
The Perfect Health Diet
Deep Nutrition
In Defense of Food
Nutrition and Physical Degeneration

People say I am on a "crazy" diet. What is so crazy about eating veggies, fruits, seafood and organ meats? Just because I don't eat whole wheat and processed food doesn't make my diet "crazy". Maybe everyone else with a SAD are the "crazy" ones for putting that junk in their system.
