    Primal Fuel
    I honestly haven't read all 7 pages of ideas. I did, however, just go through the blog's "Raising Seedlings" archive. I'm a homeschooling mom to three kids, 7, 5, and 2 1/2. I'd like to do a nutrition unit with them. I have the primal food pyramid ready to go along with the PB and the PB Cookbook. I'm looking for other reading recommendations.

    One I've gotten from the forum is "The Omnivore's Dilemma." Apparently there's a juvenile version. I'm wondering if there are other books geared toward kids or that I can adapt or highlight sections of for the kids. Thanks!

    Hi,

    There is a new study that is reviewed by the BBC here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-10726414
    suggesting that high meat intake is bad for us and related to weight gain. My husband is the carb king and is not happy about my efforts on the primal diet as all that lack of bread and starches makes him uncomfy.

    Could you assess this study?

    DOES THE BODY BURN FAT FOR ENERGY IF IT IS NOT IN KETOSIS ?

    Can you lose weight if your body is not in ketosis ? If your body is burning fat as it's major fuel shouldn't we always be in ketosis ?

    CONFUSED........

    Hi Primal Toad,

    I found this blog article (Science Based Medicine Blog) that speaks to some of the study's weaknesses.

    Empty Pantry

    Dear Mark;
    I am moving into a new place, the fridge is empty we have no food in the cupboards. The first shopping trip is coming up and I could use some help with the shopping list. I am familiar with the meat, vegetable and fruit products that I enjoy and will purchase in obsene quantities... but what about the everything else? Lots of recipies on MDA containg a wide range of spices, herbs and other items that are not common in every kitchen (or not mine). Do you think you could compile a starter shopping list that could help me enjoy more of your great recipies...so I dont have to purchase a new spice or ingredient for every meal? And does anyone else have some kitchen items they reccomend stocking up on?

    Mark,

    This topic is hardly ever addressed by any sort of nutrituon or dieting/lifestyle books as well as not covered anywhere that I have found by PB. I work in a hospital and have been working the night shift for 8 years now and truely enjoy the shift, however this tends to flip my day as the hours tend to be from 7pm to 7am, and of course on my days off I have to switch back to normal people's schedule. Any posting or blogs dealing with this topic to make it helpful for those of us with this kind of schedule keep a Primal life would be very much appreciated. Thank you

    The role "intellectual property" plays in perpetuating the industrialization of our food supply.

    I'd be happy to do a guest post on this.
