    Smile Soy

    Primal Fuel
Hello. I'm new to this forum. I really like the idea of a primal lifestyle and I started it last week though it's hard when I'm the only one in my family who actually thinks about health!
I have one question I hope you can answer. Is soy flour okay ??? Almond flour is so expensive and I can't find it in stores where I live anyway (I live in Vestmannaeyjar (Westmanislands) in Iceland).

So do I hace to kiss soy flour goodbye? And what are your thougts on wheat germ?

    Thank you
    Hofy

Soy is a legume with lots of anti-nutrients and phytoestrogens, which mimic estrogen in your body. Nothing good can come of that.

Also, a lot of soy is genetically engineered, and many many people have allergies or digestive problems with it.

Ditch the flour as much as you can, no matter what kind, at least for a while. You'll be better off for it in the long run.

Here is Mark's stance and he really doesn't take a hard liner approach. Many of us here, myself included, avoid soy as much as possible.

Mark's stance seems to have shifted--in a more recent post on lectins, he suggests eliminating soy as one of the worst lectin offenders. That Soy Scrutiny post is from 2008, and his position appears to have become more anti-soy since then. Fermented soy is better (tamari, tempeh), but it's really not a good idea.

Soy sends me to the hospital (anaphylactic shock). I recommend against it.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

I used to be a big soy eater. Then I had breast cancer. Correlation? Causation? Who knows. You can find as many studies that are pro soy as against but, given my history, and since I don't need to be eating it for any reason, I am going to err on the side of a soy-free life.
