its just my daughter, my mother and me.. the news was not taken well by her. Have not told my daughter yet. Looking at a duplex this afternoon.
I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes, family is the worst. Let us know if we can do anything.
it is amazing how smooth things can go.. or at least you think they are smooth and they you get knocked on your butt. <headache>
Sometimes you do need your own space.
My Mom was in an apartment in our basement and often that was too close for each of us in turn. We'd drive her nuts or she'd drive me nuts or she and my husband would...you get the picture. In the end she had to be with us, but she could have lived happily on her own for most of her retirement.
I think, at least in the beginning, my mom and I would have fun. My dad and I, well that is a different story. I thank my sister often, as she moved in with them (built an apartment on top of their screened in porch) so they could stay in their home as long as possible. Of course they live 3 blocks away from the beach, and 3 blocks away from a cute little boutique/art shop/local bars type street so it is a tad easier than it would be in the middle of nowhere. But she had a hard time with my dad 'hinting' about the way she was raising her daughter. Her DD is off to college now so that is no longer an issue.

yup.. the kid/grandkid issue I think is always at the forefront. So.. I am removing a situation to salvage a relationship. This is the way I see it.. probably the only one that does.
on a positive note: getting a lot of positive comments about my jeans.. even from my students. Got to find at least one positive a day no matter how shitty the day.
gotta love a good pair of jeans!
Hang in there, you have to do what you think is best.
