Hulky is home all day right now, so it's a good time to get her used to him. He'll have to start working within the next couple of months, but I hope she'll be fairly comfortable by then! First is getting her comfortable with him, after that is getting her comfortable with the other cat. I expect we might have to keep them separated for at least a few weeks.

Hulky is giving me play-by-plays via text. Pumpkin came out and ate and let him pet her for a bit, even head-butted his hand, but then got spooked and hid in the box under the bed again. It's still progress!

Did I mention this poor baby had kittens at some point? She's only 13 or 15 months old! Cats can have kittens as young as 6 months old!

most cats are slow to become accustomed to a new home and people. Give her time and lost of love and patience (as I'm sure you will ) I'd guess by the end of the week she'll be venturing out into the house. The best way to introduce cats to each other (the I have found) is to have them both in your lap (you holding one and hulky the other) and let them just look at each other for a while before getting them too close. A very slow introduction has worked best for me. Letting them feel safe (while in your arms or on your lap) will help them know that the other cat is not a threat.

I recommend a towel for hulky's lap ( you too). Claws in tender spots hurt.
I find your lack of bacon disturbing.

The kitties had a little bit of a meeting today. Fae hissed at the door and Pumpkin huddled in terror under the bed on the other side. Sooo they are nowhere near ready to meet . First step is still getting Pumpkin comfortable with us! She let Hulky pet her a bit today.

Hulky and I slept in the same room as the cat last night. She came out from under the bed and played with some toys her own. At some point, she came up on the bed and sniffed around! We stayed very still. She is eating and using the litter box, but still mostly hiding under the bed when we're around.

I would like to go cycling today, but not sure I'll have the motivation once we're back from the appointments.

I hope you can resolve your female issues. That's sounds just awful! I've never even had a yeast infection so I can't even relate - but I can sympathize!

Why isn't Hulky sleeping? Anxiety? Just normal insomnia?

Random thought: when do I get considered an old timer in terms of how long I've been at MDA? I started here 3 years ago this July.

Nice. I became MDA 2 years old on the third. Lots happened since then.

I guess I'd be a great old one. I've been here 4.5 years.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"
