Our body is our subconscious mind, and anybody who thinks that their conscious mind is running the show is seriously mistaken. In fact the conscious mind just may be the most narcissistic entity in the universe, it thinks it's running the show. It's not.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.
Hey- I'm curious about your thoughts on Buffy. I've been re-watching it since I saw a post calling Xander a slut-shamer who's only in it for the chance to boink Buffy. I'm on season four or five, and while he's not the most enlightened guy, he seems mostly well-meaning and I haven't seen any slut shaming. What's the anti-feminism you're seeing?
BTW- how old was the girl that said the 90's were a different time? I remember them! Crap, now I feel old. On the other hand, maybe they were. We seem to be going backwards as far as human/women's rights go.

I'm only in season 1. He's a classic "nice guy," harassing Buffy when she is clearly putting out signals that she's not interested and acting like he's entitled to her. The woman who made that comment is probably only a year or two older than me, so 25 or 26? I had to stop & think for a minute about how old I am (I have been forgetting lately, not really relevant to my life).
I've heard that Xander gets better, but it's not really a great start!
Update for ze day! I used to try and save my updates to cover for the previous day, but I like updating! I'm a nutter, what can I say?
Felt kind of grumpy this morning, probably from the ice cream & cookie I had. Better now. I am contemplating making gluten-free cookies to have around, but I know from last weekend that I'm not good at resisting them. Maybe I should just make do with the slip-ups for now and focus on just eating well. I still REALLY want chocolate. I have plenty of magnesium during the day from my buffered Vitamin C powder. Maybe it's just a sugar craving.
I ordered Threelac today. It should arrive Tuesday. I am trying not to be excited about it, in case it works really well for my digestive issues, but it's hard not to be hopeful.
Breakfast: 3 eggs, scrambled. I've been splurging on some pastured eggs at Whole Foods for the past month or so and it's so worth it. The yolk color is really nice & orange and the shells are fairly tough. The pan was kind of gunky from pork chops the other night so the eggs stuck.
Lunch: Will be pork chop, broc, and avocado. All my avocados ripened at the same time, so if we don't order out tonight (maki rolls), I will probably make some kind of pudding out of them! Probably too much fiber all at once, but plenty of tasty, tasty fat.
-I want some red meat. We haven't been eating it very much because it's expensive. WF is having a sale on grass-fed ground beef tomorrow, but only between 10-11. I bet it would be a nuthouse, and people will probably basket it early and wait for the hour that the price discount occurs. So we probably won't bother, even though we'll be down that way, waiting for the car to be fixed.
-Need more refined coconut oil & olive oil (or EVOO, which is better to cook with?).
-Need to get more sweet potatoes (69c per at Trader Joe's) & want to get a small thing of grass-fed cream or milk this weekend. Just to see if that sits any better with me.
Budget: Looking pretty good for this month, actually, hence why I went ahead with ordering Threelac. I can pay off all my medical bills and I should still be good, and maybe have a little leftover for savings. I like to have at least enough money for an entire month's worth of groceries in my checking account at any given time, and I should be over that point at the start of next month, after the rent check clears. Before payday (today), I got down to $21.99. Barring any unexpected expenses, next month should be much better!
I am not sure at this point if I want to sell the scooter in the Spring. I would have to invest at least a few hundred $ to get it prepped and tuned to sell. I don't know how much I could reasonably expect to get for it either. I paid $1800 in 2011 for a 2009 model that had never been sold (so it was new). I think I should've paid less, TBH! Riding the scooter is much cheaper in terms of insurance & gas use, but we don't have room for two cars and a scooter. I'd rather have the Mustang anyway. I'll keep an eye for a price range on Craigslist in the Spring. I'd rather sell it without having to take it in for a tune-up, but it needs it =\. I don't think I could get more than $500 for it.
Keep the scooter. Guys dig a chick on a bike.
If I just said LOL, I lied. Do or do not. There is no try.
I've always wanted a wine-purple colored vespa, but my boyfriend thinks scooters are dumb.![]()
