Have you given thought to going no carb to limit any fibrous foods from sitting in your intestinal tract and fermenting? Oh, and have you ever heard of Doug Kaufman of Know the Cause (.com)? After doing a search I came across this, even though his site isn't as good as this one in terms of finding information from what I can tell: "Rotating a few natural anti-fungals, such as olive leaf or oil of oregano, might help prevent any pathogenic yeast from colonizing your intestinal tract."

My mom also mentioned them consuming whole cloves when she was watching an episode of the show. And of course probiotics help. *making you a gallon of full-fat greek-style yogurt that is so thick you can't shake it out of the container when it's been refrigerated*

Ramblings, Ravings and Rants.: Delayed weekend recap–Autumn is coming

No carb, as in no veggies whatsoever? Not really, because I'm not sure what I'd eat (I guess that's Intro GAPS diet for you though, broth and meat). I don't think I could handle ketosis and I don't WANT to lose fat (I don't have much to lose before I think it'd be dangerous). I'm worried that by completely eliminating stuff like fiber, I'll mess up my system even more. Yeah, rotating anti-fungals seems to be the key, which I have not been doing. I have an idea of some things I'd like to try for this next month, like oil of oregano, apple cider vinegar (3 tsp in water, at least once a day), Acidophilus, and garlic (yeah, might end up swallowing peeled, whole cloves!). Much cheaper than everything else I've been taking, too!

Thanks for the imaginary yogurt. I decided to end my Whole30 early by incorporating a serving of yogurt daily for a while (still planning on being strict no-grain, no added/refined sugar or starches, no-legumes). I don't know if it'll help or hurt, but it's tasty and I'm feeling kind of oh-fucking-well about it all right now. We'll see how my appointment goes later today.

Had some trouble falling asleep last night, but otherwise, slept okay. I'm feeling better in general, after feeling totally wiped out and sick-ish for the past few days. I might even go biking this evening, since I'm actually feeling like doing it. The constipation has alleviated a bit, so I think that's a large part of why I feel better (though not 100%)! The itchiness is also better today. I wonder if my garlic supplements and overnight remedy actually got me going towards mending. I still want to get a prescription for Nystatin, just in case. I am focusing heavily on hydration today, no tea, just in case that's been causing problems for me.

Who is the hot chick in this photo? The Wilderness Childe: Revolution I want to be her.

My larger cast iron needs to be re-seasoned, badly! It has white residue on it. I don't need it for making dinner tonight (sweet Italian sausages), so perhaps I'll do a seasoning session, and a few more this weekend.

Important distinction to be made between soluble and insoluble fiber. IIRC, insoluble (e.g., found in beans) irritates and messes with gut flora; soluble found in our happy Primal veggies causes no such issues.

Fiber is massively confusing. There are tons of (CW-ish) guides out there saying EAT ALL THE FIBER FOR HEALTHY POOPS AND GUT. Especially things that encourage taking psyllium husks to bulk waste and clear out intestines. It sounds like a good idea, but I also just imagine stuff scraping intestinal walls and creating even more problems.

Dietary Fiber: Insoluble and Soluble Fiber

Beans are soluble, broccoli is insoluble. So in theory, broccoli should help bulk and clear things out, and is preferred to things like flax, apples, carrots, which will chill and ferment in the gut. I think. So confusing. And it's another super consing aspect of dealing with candida overgrowth. It could be that you need MORE things to ferment in your gut to help clear the excess bacteria, or it could be that you need more things to just pass through. No way to tell!

That picture is from Aria Giovanni (.com) which is a very adult site. I did a reverse image search and found a color version of the picture and was able to zoom in on the website watermark. Before I went to the site I opened a private browsing window. So yeah, the girl in the photo is hot...she is also, essentially, a porn actress. She does have the body for it, I'll give her that.

Back on topic though, if a person went for no veggies and fruits to avoid the sugars and fibers, they would definitely need to eat organic everything from every part of the animals they consume.

I saw that photo on Facebook. They tried to pass it off as being an old photo depicting what women USED to look like back before size 0 became "sexy".

    Hahaha not so much!

Totally organic and awesome food stuffs would be awesome BUT I definitely can't do that right now. My budget would start crying blood.

Appointment with doc was good. She could not see any yeast, but that's not too surprising since I mostly feel the symptoms in the morning and it's been better for the past couple of days. Given my digestive issues, she said that I should see the original doc (that mentioned Nystatin) for further help, but if the culture she took comes back with yeast and the symptoms don't continue to improve with the garlic (she seemed surprised but okay with me using it), she wants to prescribe me some cream to use.

    So.
-Candex runs out in about 4 days. Won't bother refilling.
-Going to do garlic treatment 3 days in a row/as I feel it is needed, eat a serving of yogurt daily, continue probiotics & Acidophilus (picked it up yesterday) for the next week or so.
-If symptoms (YI and constipation) do not improve over the next week or so, get oil of oregano, take that with probiotics and Acidophilus and/or get Nystatin from doctor.
-If they do improve, keep doing what I'm doing for another week or so.
-Then add a few pieces of fruit (need to look up what kind would be best, needs to be non-starchy... berries?) a week.
-No starches for at least one month after symptoms are over, but probably should do longer than that.

    Random thoughts:
-Oh yogurt, you give me yogurt cravings. Must keep consumption down to 1 serving a day. It will be tough!
-I hope the L-Glutamine will help with the cravings.
-Now I've run out of energy and am not really feeling like bike riding, but I'm determined to stick with this, even if I don't end up biking to work before it gets too cold. MUST GO BIKING TONIGHT.

Sounds like you have a complicated plan. I hope it works for you. I've had the overgrowth issues on a couple of occasions (thanks to antibiotics) but I can't even imagine what it's like to have an ongoing condition like that.

I read on the whole30 thread you're having issues with candida symptoms.
    What exactly do you experience?
Everything is bad for something - How do you feel today?
