Where to find bacon, sausasge, jerky without sugar?
I live in South Carolina and am finding it impossible to find bacon (except for Gwaltney's 40% less fat, no sugar bacon...), breakfast sausage or jerky without some form of sugar.
We have a Whole Foods, an Earthfare and a Trader Joe's will open soon.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I eat a black forest bacon from Whole Foods that has raw sugar in it (cured in it I think) but it has zero carbs...I think the quantitiy is minimal. Also look at all the prepackaged, but not frozen sausages at whole foods ---I think there is a brand called Bellinskis at the WFs in SC--we were just there randomly. They have very low to no carbs. I used to get the spinach and garlic one I think.

I would think the amount of sugar found in commercially cured bacon is probably negligible. I've never seen bacon that had any carbs listed on the packaging and it's usually one of the last ingredients listed. That being said, I usually buy the Plumrose bacon with 25% less sodium and it's listed as sugar free. Admittedly, I don't eat much bacon, so it's not an issue to me. I probably haven't eaten any in a month or two.

I make my own sausage and jerky. The sausage is especially easy and there are some great recipes here on MDA. For the jerky I have a dehydrator.

I just make patties for the sausage, links are way to much work :-)
